Liverpool Independents Biennial (2025) unfolded as a city-wide ecology of artist-led work. Temporary, resourceful, and built through collaboration. I took part in several exhibitions across the festival and also volunteered as an invigilator, moving between presenting work and supporting the conditions that allow work to be seen.
Working across different sites brought new questions into the studio. Unusual rooms and makeshift architectures shifted how the work behaved, while my involvement with Ghost Art School opened a route into expanded painting - less a fixed object than a set of decisions made in relation to space, bodies and attention. The biennial sharpened what I value in public-facing practice: context, exchange, and the practical labour that sustains artist-led culture.
The images below are selected documentation from different exhibitions and collaborations within the 2025 biennial programme.
