The Freelands Painting Prize celebrates outstanding painting by final-year students attending art schools and universities across the UK. Established in 2020, the prize highlights distinguished practice nationwide and reflects the Foundation’s ongoing interest in the evolving status and syllabus of painting. Each year, higher education institutions offering undergraduate courses in Fine Art or Painting are invited to nominate one graduating student for this national recognition.

“I am honoured to have been nominated for the 2025 Freelands Painting Prize. To be selected to represent Liverpool Hope Fine Art is the most meaningful recognition of my practice to date. The experience has strengthened my confidence in my painting and deepened my commitment to continuing to grow as a self-directed artist.”
